Hard start, every day its taking more and more cranking to start.

For some reason of the last week or two its taken longer and longer cranking to get my jeep to start.
It used to be really fast, almost no lag at all, but now its like 5-7 seconds of cranking befor it starts.

I park it in a heated parkade every night, seems the longer it sits the longer it takes to start.

the starter spins fast and doesnt sound like its not getting enough power or anything.
Partsource tested the alt and battery and said both were fine.

Any ideas?

I was having a problem with my jeep starting kind of hard and I used some seafoam in the throttle body and it helped alot
Might try that, i think it was only like $3.

This might help

I just slowly poured it into the throttle body. I think i used about a 1/3 of the can.
Mine started smoking like crazy then it started to idle smoother. Youdo it while it is running BTW. I think you can use it in oil and gas to but i havent done tat yet

you could be losing fuel pressure while it sits overnight. the fuel will drain back into the tank so when you go to start the system has to pressureize first. best thing to do is to check the pressure on the fuel rail to see if it leaks down.

if it is a loss of fuel pressure, then turn the key to on for 5 secs before cranking, the fuel pump turns on and will pressurize the lines. I always start like this anyways.

see if that helps at all

same problem

I have the same problem in mt 89 I6. I charge the line by waiting a while with the key on and everything. Sometimes it takes 5 seconds, sometimes pretty quickly.

Anyone know what this is a symptom of???

I thought it just needed a tune up. Plugs, cap, rotor, wires, fuel filter, all changed, no help at all.
