H.D. Headlight Loom
I recently realized my lights are sh*t. I dont want to spend a lot of money on new housings so i was poking around and came across the Go-Jeep H.D. Headlight Loom "upgrade". I believe that i have H6054 Sylvania Silverstar. Im not sure but i dont believe i have the "H4" globes that go-jeep speaks of. But i am interested in improving my light output / quality. Is there any way i can retain my current lights while doing something along the lines of the Go-Jeep write up for improving the wiring or something similar? the lights are brand new and i dont have money to drop on new lights to replace my "new lights"
Here is the link to the loom upgrade: Headlight Loom upgrade

Excellent article man.... read that myself, then found a link to this. $19.00 and honestly, it is a pretty solid kit. I replaced the fuseable links for 2 x 30 AMP inline fuses, but that is just me.
Check it out... oh and H4 are replaceable bulbs/housings (I assume that you know that). I run the same H6054 Silverstars and they were a huge improvement over the stock lights. As soon as I get this harness in I am certain that I will see a vast improvement again! Ordering H4's in a few weeks...lol G

idk if that really helps me. I know H4 are removable bulb but the current H6054 silverstars arent (i think but ill check on my lunch break). I dont have the money to get H4 lights so i was wondering if there was any way to improve the wiring to have better light with the silverstars that i already have. Unless im really dumb and its very possible i didnt knwo if you meant you could use that harness on the silverstars as well or its just for the H4 cause i thought they were only for the H4.

Your stock headlight and H4's both use the same plug/socket .That harness will work for both . Check the Tech/FAQ sticky , there are a couple of good write-ups on upgrading the headlight wiring.

Um yes... the harness will improve your lighting over stock. Yes you can run it with the Silverstar Sealed Beams, and get a good to great result.
Sorry if I wasn't that clear. You will see an improvement It is cheaper than H4's on stock wiring (not recommended) You will benefit from relays in the loom Your Silverstars are good lights...should be more than adequate for most situations

The harness will cause premature failure (lights burn out) but you can try it

is there any typical auto store such as advanced or autobone that would carry these? i hate ordering stuff cause im impatient or would you recomend making my own like go-jeep. now that i nkow it can work im just lookin to see what option is my better bet. im not slow but im not a wiz so making my own would be difficult. but if gathering material and making my own would either be cheaper or take less time than ordering it and shipping it an blah blah blah i can do it. opinions?

Kurt, you can buy relays, wire, terminals, and plugs at most stores. You can buy a premade harness cheaper, but maybe not off the shelf. |

A lot of people on here using this loom with high wattage H4's with good success. I am about to "finally" install mine now... stopped raining for 5 minutes.

hubs, I have the Go-Jeep write up but i didnt know how complicated the write up is compaired to any others that might be out there. IM not 100% sure what im doing as i havent finished reading the write up but im interested in making my own if i cant find one in a local parts store. Does anyone else have a write up on how to make this harness other than the go-jeep? im gunna price together how much it will roughly cost and then see how much shipping is and either way ill prolly build it myself because i like knowing that if somethings wrong at least I f*cked it up haha

I have the Hella ECE conversions with Hella 100/80's in them. I made my own relay pack with Dorman products that can be purchased at most auto parts stores. It definately makes a difference when you get full voltage to the lights, which usually can't be done through the factory wiring even with stock bulbs. One word of advice, if you can get Tyco (formerly Bosch) relays, they are the best. One of my Dorman ones is occaisionally sticking on for a few seconds after I shout the headlights off.
