Look what happened while inspecting my rear drums on the Chrycrap 8.25

What should I do? Get new ones or try to reattach?

Daystar makes extendo's for not too outrageous. If it were mine, I'd get 'new' stockers from a JY and homebrew the bump stop plates on the U bolts. I did mine this weekend, I'll shoot you some pics of it later.

I think mine is pretty much the same as FitchVA's. 2x2 tubing with the bottom cut out, ends tapered up, drilled for hockey pucks and welded to the U bolt plate.

I should prob do that while I have the D44 spring plates off. Something else to add to the list

Took about 30 minutes to cut the 2x2 channel out with a 4.5 grinder. No vice so I used my hitch.

Welds left boogery because I'm lazy and don't feel like grinding them smooth. Painted with flat black after the pics.

Edit: I cut them about 8.5" long. Sat one end flush on the U bolt plate, marked the other end where the overhang began, then scribed a line to taper it off. Shotgunned, mostly.

Ruff Stuff 3/8" plates and 5/8" bolts. I bent the stock 1/4" spring plates tightening down my u-bolts with the stock tire iron, so I decided I needed something beefier. If you get these plates, and U bolts, the nut size is 24mm or 15/16". Get the right size wrench early.
