Don't forget LOTS of PB blaster for at least a few days before hand. Mud in your eyes sucks.
This motor is wasted...the 3 terminal posts were MELTED into the housing...the PO of my XJ was a bozo However, this is also a chance to upgrade to a better motor...I found out that the M8000 is pretty much the same winch as the Tabor 9k and confirmed this with Warn's Tech Dept. I'm going to get a M8000 motor and a M8000 brake system hopefully if someone will come up with one for me

LOL about the underside of my Jeep. Everytime I go offroading, that silty mud ends up staying with me. By the time I get it washed off, it's usually back on again. I have already been sprayin the PB...that stuff works wonders

My motor was melted down into a heap...if you can't get the new motor you want at a reasonable price, ask the rebuild shops at see what it would cost you. It looks like your Jeep is off to a good start, nothing wrong with waiting a while to do major work to it.

well, the new motor is going to be around $100 shipped...that's a lot better than paying for a $350 motor from Warn.

Yea, I wish more guys had the attitude that I have instead of the "I wann throw throw the CHEAPEST JY kit to get it up 6"....o and did i mention I only have $400 to do so "

I wanna do it RIGHT the first time

Oh, forgot to mention another mod I've got in the works:

After two years, I've gotten sick of seeing nasty rusty-looking hubs every time i drive the heep.

Here's the question: Do you think that I should use Flat black or a semi-gloss to match the wheels? They're Cragar soft 8's FWIW. I can't recall what millhouse used on his.

I used krylon fusion satin black. Make sure you sand them really well before otherwise it will chip off. Looking good! I dont think ive ever seen your rig either.

Thanks millhouse...I went back to your writeup but it just said you "painted" them...lol

I appreciate the help. I'm going to sand them tomorrow and hopefully get them painted too.

i am so jealous of your ARB bumper... the jeep is lookin good! i agree with taking your time and doing things right the first time, in the end its always cheaper and faster than rushing and having to do and pay for stuff twice! good luck with the build!

I'm actually looking for a pre 97+ ARB bumper to TRADE but I appreciate it

Idk why, but I LOVE the look of ARBs on Jeeps. I think it's because I used to be a ROVER fan and all of them have brush guard bumpers like that.

Wow, congrats! Maybe good things happen to those poor suckers with crappy Procomp lifts.

Oh FYI, not sure if you have the Procomp track bar too or not, but keep a very close eye on it, mine went to **** today. I've been having to tighten the lock nut on my track bar every few days(the hiem would start wobbling in the track bar body), have to do this a couple of times over the last 4 months, but 3-4 times over the last few days. The nut that they welded to the body(not a threaded bung) for the hiem to thread into, sheered the threads(all 1/2" of them), and wouldn't hold the hiem. I just got off work, was about 20 miles from home, and it was 5AM, luckily my buddy at work lived close so he told me to limp over there and we welded the adjustable section solid, not a perminate fix, but it got me home and should work till my RE Extreme Duty track bar gets here next week. Glad I ordered that Wednesday.

The cheap @$$ PO used the 3" AAL kit that utilizes the stock track bar in a relocation bracket...so that doesn't apply to me thankfully.

Hooligan, here's a question for you. If the D35 Brake deal doesn't fall through, I want to go with the 8.8 disc swap. I was at the JY today and I was looking at the exSploDers and all of the disc components looked rusty and/or nasty. Does it matter what year/condition they are in? I also saw a crown vic where the disc brakes weren't too bad. There are also ~15 ZJs there too (I LOVE this place)

I may just have you get em for me if you can get em for ~$50 like you said.

Just curious man

I had access to a sand blaster so that helped tremendously in my situation

But rust really isn't going o cause any issues other than the dust shields, and those aren't absolutely necessary, just try and find the one with the least amount of rust/newest year.
I might be heading over to the JY this weekend, having a "Everything you can carry across a 20ft line for $40" thing, I've been thinking about going out there tomorrow to scout out the place, and might go Sun if I see anything good, let me know if your interested.
