greasing the slip yoke
I plan on greasing the slip yoke this weekend and am wondering if it's OK to back it up on ramps so I'll have more room to work. I wasn't sure if the Jeep has to be in neutral or if it's OK to have it in park on the ramps. Obviously won't put it on the ramps if it has to be in neutral. Also I was going to buy some silver anti-seize. Is this the recommended grease?
Thanks, HT

Trans in Nuetral would be optional, just make sure to set the Ebrake and block the front wheels. Shoudln't matter, but mark the shaft and yoke to make sure to set it back to where it was.

Id just leave it on flat ground there is enough room to get under there. Still set the parking brake and make sure to mark like balloo said. I used the silver anti seize and it has worked great for 3+ months now. Also try to clean off as much as the old grease as possible.

I'm wondering, would just standard grease work just as well, or do you think the anti-seize is better?

When you do this, be extreamly careful to not hurt the rubber boot, mine is torn and I cannot get a replacement, not from dearler ship or any auto parts stores.
I am going to burn SOMETHING down! So any way, becareful.

I dont think the jeep driveshaft is balanced. I put it back on in no particular way and no problems so far.

That was about a year ago, They ordered those damn straps and the boot since mine didnt have one. I should have just got zip ties cause I remember them being like 10 bucks a piece or something.
But try calling around, they should be able to tell you over the phone. And the boot came packaged individually as well as each strap.
