got an issue

I was replacing plugs on the pass side of 4.0L motor last night and there is a 4 way pipe deal that the heater hoses attatch to. anyways its was real brittle and the top line broke. this 4 way pipe deal seems to have a valve inside to . does anyone know what this part is called.

I know what you are talking about but i do not know the name. Go to your local jeep dealer they can print out a breakdown for the part and give you part numbers

i was thinking about that , just the jeep dealers here are kinda fubar ya know. with out a name i could be there for hours explaining it. I did get it temparily fixed but it wont hold for to long im sure. i was hoping it could be purchased at like napa or something??

You might be able to find it there not sure prob is a dealer part. Go take a look at a Haynes a repair book for cherokees maybe it is listed in there. You can find them at book stores or sometime part stores

I had to replace that part about 3 months ago. I believe it is a heater control valve. Most auto parts stores have them for about $15.00

The replacement that i got for my 94 seems better then the factory one.

yeah, heater control valve sounds corect if my memory serves right, i had to replace it about a year ago, it busted right as i pulled it into the driveway to put on my lift so it was kinda convenient that i was already about to work on it, but yeah i don't htink it was much, i also think it might fit some fords or something, i can't remember

Yep thats the valve in the upper post. didnt get a chance to replace last night but will get it today im sure. that piece is the original one from 230,000 miles worth of heat and such. im suprised it lasted this long really. im just glad it wont cost to much.

Heater control valve, about $12 at AutoZone. Just replaced mine a few days ago. Cheap crap broke when I was changing plugs, too.... new one seems better quality than original.
