going on a trip

Alright, I recently got nt jeep and on the 26th ill be taking her on a trip about 700 miles(round trip). What should I check/replace? I know the basics, like tires, oil, fluids, ect. What should I take with me, ill have about 300-350 to do any work or buy anything. The only issue ive had was it like stuuters when leaving in the morning but a tap of the gas makes it go away. Should I have mechanic do the work?

Do a coolant flush and make sure your cooling system is in good shape before going on a long trip.

Seems like you got it down, all fluids. Bring a spare tire, wrenches, jack.. Change oil if need be.. Check coolant jf its been a couple years change it( flushings up to you but reccomended..) check rad hoses.. Maybe some fresh coppers if there old might as well get the best mileage u can.. Other than that i trust my 4.0 across the country!

It knocks a bit when it does it, im pretty much mechanically inclined with everything but motors.. Ill be testing my tps next but i only have one electronic voltage meter.. Apparently you need an analog one

Kinda sounds like a small back fire, lol I used to make my jetta do them on purpose, I don't think I want my jeep to

So far ive read it could be manifold crack or leak, ignition, or fuel delivery. Thinking of putting 5.0 injectors

The cracked exhaust manifold is very common on the 4.0L before 2000 and makes a ticking sound that quiets a bit after the engine is warmed up.
