Going to the Junkyard...

Getting up early tomorrow and making the JY rounds.
I've got an idea of what im looking for but not real sure which vehicles to check. Im looking for:

-York 210 compressor
-Steering box updrade
-misc. skid plates, and interior parts

I know 84 and older volvos have the 210, anything else?
What do I need to look for to find a good steering box for the jeep?

Yup, it's the 98-99 Dodge Durango 4x4 box that is the upgrade. It has a 1/2" larger piston. You will need to use some hardened steel washers as spacers between it and the unibody frame to position it where it needs to be. Good luck!

Oh, found this too. Maybe some of it will help ya.

Here's a bit of steering box info. I replaced my stock unit with a new/rebuilt one from Auto Zone and have had to replace it (lifetime warranty) four times. I did some research and found out that pretty much all of the auto parts stores supply the exact same box for our cherokee as they do for S-10 pickups, camaros, and an endless list of other vehicles that were never intended for off road use, let alone abuse. The hot ticket is to get a box from a late 80's - early 90's Camaro/Firebird with the "sport suspension package". It will have a "Z" cast into the side. This is the box the Jeepspeed guys run. It's stronger and has a better ratio too. But you'll have to find it in a junkyard or on ebay cause if you ask for it at the parts store you'll get the same one you'd get if you asked for one for your cherokee!

In addition to the Volvos, some older Mercedes had the York 210. But the ones I've see had them mounted low and were a real PITA to get out.

I found my 210 in an AMC Eagle. It was mounted up high and was super easy to get out.
