Fuel Issue

I have a 98 cherokee classic lately its been bogging down when I push it to the floor. I checked the fuel pressure today and found that whith the key turned on but not cranking the motor I get 33 psi, when i start it and let it idle the fuel pressure drops to 31psi, and when i go to wide open throttle it drops down to 28 psi. I don't think these are good readings.

My question's are does my jeep have a fuel pressure regulator, and does it sound like the fuel pump needs changed? Thanks for any advice

my jeep is running kind of funky too. It takes a long time to build fuel pressure during start up and idles sort of rough once it is running. I think i'm gonna start with a new fuel filter. How long has it been since you changed your fuel filter?

I replaced the pump and filter 2 years ago.

The fuel pressure regulator is part of the pump assembly. Purchase a good quality replacement fuel pump assembly. As you are finding out, the cheaper fuel pumps don't last very long.

I just replaced the fuel pump assy and the jeep runs like it should.

Yeah, I think normal is 45 +/- 5. In the 30's and I would be changing mine too.
