Front YJ shocks and rear ZJ shocks??
What do I need to do to be able to use these on my 98 xj? I'm installing a 2.5" lift on my jeep next week and I need to put new shocks on it so I was thinking about using the YJ & ZJ shocks but I'm confused on what is required to be able to use these. Any help would be much appreciated.

Do these have the rod top or the eylet bushing type mounts on top. Not even sure if these will offer any extra length.

Front ZJ UpCountry Sensatrac shock part #37193, 13.375" compressed and 24.250" extended.
For the rear use Monroe Sensatrac part #37029, which is 14.375" compressed and 23.000" extended. All this info is from Rocklizards home brew budget boost. http://www.rocklizardfabrications.com/home_brew_budget_boost.htm

Valkyrx has it right, I have updated the shock numbers to use. Read the update part of my article and you will get an idea why the new part numbers will work better than my original article. With the new part numbers, you alony need a BPE or press in a barpin in the rear shock. Much less work than the YJ front/ZJ rear route.

GottaBe,
Isw it a real pain to get the bar pins outta my old shocks and into the new ones? Also, My parts store doesn't show an "up country" option. Was this a certian year? Thanks guys for the help EDIT: I have the shocks part numbers so I can track them down that way. ![]()

What brand/type of shocks? If they are not SensaTracs, then they may not be available for UC ZJ's, just depends on the brand. 1998 ZJ's are a sure bet on the UpCountry if the shock comes for that. Pressing bar pins is a big pain, which is why I suggest just doing a BPE for the rear. Old Man Emu Bar pins are real nice if you can find someone that has a set laying around because they used BPE's instead, but good luck with that.

I did a quick search on google and found the front shocks: zj sensatrac 37193. They show it has an eyelet bushing type shock instead of the rod top. Is this correct or is it just amazon showing it that way? I searched "shock 37193". Do I have to specify that it's for a zj?
