Front Wheel Problem

My 97 4.0 has a new problem today. could use some help. When in drive the right front wheel is making a clunking noise kinda like if you had a flat tire with out the bumping. I jacked it up and the tire is hard to move with your hands. It didn't do it when in reverse. Any ideas?

Thanks

peolpe are going to ask you more about your jeep before diagnosing. Is it all stock? Ton of miles on it? Anything in the area been recently replaced?

Mileage is 140,000. Stock. I just had the flywheel replace, radiator, and the rear end about 3 months ago.

With the wheel off the ground, grab it and shake it. Is there any play? The hub bearing might be toast. Also stick a couple fingers on the axle u-joint and wiggle it hard. shouldn't be any play there either. Inspect the bushings in you sway bar. they can cause a nasty thump if they are trashed. Although that wouldn't affect the wheel not spinning. Is the brake seized up? Might be you're unlucky and its a combination of things.
