Front shocks grommet

My 2000 XJ front shocks upper grommets keeps cutting and wore out in less than a month. I have changed it more than 4 times.
I don't know if the hole in the body where the upper side of the shock goes is 1" in diameter, it is kinda big to me, maybe that what wore both upper and lower grommets. I would like to know if that hole size as I measured it one inch, else what type grommet should I put, is there a specific P/N or a place I can buy from. Thanks.

The bushings should have a protruded side that fits that hole. When properly placed and tightened down, they should have no play. I'd guess you're not getting them placed right and this tears them up.

I am wondering if the hole is 1 inch dia, that is a large hole for the bushing to fit on.
You are wright S8NNGN,. I will put new bushing and tight them real good.

If the will tear out next time, I will have the mechanic do it for me and see what kind of bushing he will use.

Poly bushings may work better if the rubber ones are what's tearing.
