front end humming/vibration
it started Saturday. was only happening at about 50mph. When wheelin on Sunday, and it got worse (surprise surprise)
It gets to where you can hear it at about 30mph, and gets louder the faster I go. Not too sure what the problem may be, so as always i've come here for guidance. Anyone give me some things to check? I'll be tearin into it Saturday, so if i have some possibilities I'll know where to start. ![]()

Try looking for lost wheel weights or mud caked on the wheels; those are things that can give you a nasty vibration. Possibly look for bushing degradation or your front end alignment. That's all I can think of for now.

Definitely check for mud/debris. That can throw off balance and create vibes very easily.
Another quick and dirty thing to try is to swap your front wheels/tires to the back. If that eliminates or even changes the signature of the vibration, you know you need to concentrate on a wheel/tire issue. Other than that, a good inspection on a hoist checking all front end, steering and drivetrain parts closely for play is next on the list. Good Luck!

I just got new rubber for it yesterday, but I'm waiting to put those one. I know that I DEFINATELY need an alignment..have since I hit that tree. So, i have that appointment set up for Monday. A also found out that my one or both of outer tie rods is shot. So, i'll fix that kinda stuff this weekend.
I'll try swapping the tires and see if that changes the sound. I put a heavy duty, custom-made front bumper on it, so think I may even pull the front bumper and take it for a spin to see if maybe cause of the extra weight or something. any more ideas, please let em roll in. but if/when i figure things out i'll update |

if you recently added a lift the increase angle will place pressure on the transfer case causing a vibration

This may be the most obvious, but overlooked, tires that are worn out or cupped or feathered will cause all kinds of noise and vibration. That could possibly be the culprit
