front axle yoke problems

99 cherokee (stock)
4.0L 4x4
no anti-lock

I dont know if anybody else has ever run into any problems when ordering the wheel section of a front axle yoke. I have now had my truck down for three days, the dealership has ordered part that the computer says belongs in my truck twice, and both times it was the same part (wrong part). It would seem that in 99 there were two choices in yokes, one for w/antilock. one w/o antilock. The u-joints are the same for both however. I keep getting a part that the u-joint is smaller then mine. (diameter of the caps is smaller). If anybody has seen this, and figured out how to solve it, please let me know

It seems to me it wouldn't matter if you had anti or not. The tone rings for the abs are pressed on to the axle shafts located at the knuckle. I don't see how that would affect which yoke is use?
The yoke would depend on the pinion and which axle you have. Which axle do you have in the front?

I dont need the axle section, I need the wheel section. I am assuming I could go with the anti-lock version that has the tone ring on it, however they want an xtra 50 bucks for that one. I have been waiting for the right part since wednesday, and I now dont see why I should pay an additional 50 bucks to have the wrong part, even though it will prob do the job

Sorry heard yoke and thought of the pinion.... It is not uncommon for car manufactures to make mid-year engineering changes on their car parts. Check to see if the part numbers are different for 1998 or a 2000 model. If so, try one of those.
