Front axle issues

I had a question about some front axle problems I am having. I have a 97 XJ with a Dana 30 front axle. About 2 or 3 months ago, I started hearing a popping noise when I turn either direction. It didn't start out that loud, but it has gotten quite loud lately. I have checked out the front end parts, and ball joints, steering arms, and all bushings seem to be ok. It only pops when the jeep is moving, and only when I am turning. Because of this I am thinking that it is the u-joints. Is that a correct assumption?? The reason I say this is because I can sit in one spot and crank it back and forth and no popping at all. So would you guys say that it is just the u-joints??

I'd say the u-joints are bad, your description matches the usual symptoms.
