FIREPOWER screamin' demon IGNITION.....any other users?

Another forum member turned me on to it, and I'm seriously considering it, as it would be a perfect compliment to my exhaust and intake mods (bored TB, 99 intake, K&N drop in, flowmaster, header, etc)

This kit has a high power coil, good quality brass dist cap and rotor, and 10mm wires. Claims more power, better idle, and MPG.

I'd like to get some more feedback, as I think im gonna whip the credit card out ........

- Thanks!

i dont have the firepower kit but got the accel kit. it comes with new plugs rather then an ignition coil. i did notice better mileage and a little bit smoother idle, i would reccomend getting new/better plugs anyways cuz they will make or break an ignition system. if your jeep is anything like mine was the build up of crap under the cap will make you wonder how the thing got spark at all. so yeah get it, if nothing else it will be one more thing to brag about to you friends.

Yeah, the dude who shot me the link is a straight shooter and seems to know what he's talking about, so I trust his judgement. His is relatively new, so he said he'd get back to me with long-term results,

......However, Like YOU said, I cant imagine bigger wires, better cap and rotor and a stronger spark signal ever being a bad thing.

My only concern is whether the stock ignition system and ECU will adjust to it, and exactly HOW LONG will things hold up? will this upset ignition timing? Affect sensors, make me retarded for even worrying about it?.....Like a lot of early musclecars, a hotter ignition made more power, but required additional tuning to get max results, for example.

On a lot of late model EFI/E.I. systems, the optimum spark curve is already dialed in at the factory, and it gives a pre-set proogressive spark rate to a given air/fuel ratio. More spark under redline isnt doing much, unless you are cammed to redline above factory spark/ rev limitations settings. I believe, SOmething like that. Whatever.

Is this a good mod or what, people? Sounds good, and I think Im gonna do it, OBD II or not.

I'm running a full MSD ignition. I can feel a little more off idle torque and get maybe 1 mpg more. It really isn't worth the money that you put into it.
