Finally joined - now I can show pics.. (long)

Since I'm sure to be asking a fair share of questions soon - I figured it only right to help support the forum. Plus, now I can post some pics of my Heep.

It's not much to look at now, but that's all about to change. I bought this several years ago to be a second vehicle and act as my kid/bike/dog hauler. Over the years, it's been known as "the hoopty", "the blapity blap" (busted muffler), or simply "the pile". After 200K miles, I feel as though it's earned the right to finally look as good as it runs...

Long story short - this Jeep was stolen at some point and wrecked. Somehow, a friend bought it along the way and used to haul magazines. All he ever did with it was fill the tank and add to the ever-impressive scratch collection. I bought it from him with no intentions of doing anything with it but make it run decent enough to get back and forth to the bike trails and the airport. While it runs like a top, in all this time I've only washed it twice.

A few weeks ago I bought a set of Rubicon wheels to replace my ratty Sport wheels. Of course once I added an appropriate set of tires - they were too tall for the worn out stock suspension.

Tonight, it's gets a 3" Skyjacker lift and the new tires/wheels installed, next month it's going to paint booth to be covered in bedliner spray. Considering how its looked for most of its life, plus what my plans are for it down the road - I have no problem doing the whole thing in bedliner spray. Once the lift is installed, I'll start pulling all of the non-essential parts off in preparation of the paint job. Then it will sit for a few weeks while I travel for work.

Here are a few shots of what I've done so far, plus a photoshop rendering of the how it will look after being painted.

Before and after front-end work:

Is that a new bumper or did you bend it back?

New. While I straightened out what I could underneath, I replaced the grill, headlight buckets, and fender.

I also replaced the entire cooling system while I was in there.
