Father & Son day

I was off work today and my 15 year old son was off school so we spent most of the day hangin out
together. He's into the tuner car scene so we went to a local hobby shop to see if they had and decent model kits to build. Then we went out and
test drove a couple cars, the Madza 6 and a Jeep Liberty, I think we both liked the 6 the best. Then it was off to Hooters for lunch where, the we had two totally different ideas which Hooter girl was best. After that we went and seen the new Bruce Willis flick "Tears of the Sun" an excellent guy flick that even the women could enjoy. When we were getting ready to leave I decide to let my son try and drive the XJ in their
hugh parking lot (his first time behind the wheel). Considering its a 5-speed he did pretty
darn good with the clutch. He only stalled it about three times, which I didn't think was to bad
for his first attempt. All in all it was a great
day. Just thought I would share.

Thats awesome. My son is 8 and I try and involve him in the Jeep stuff as much as I can. It all adds to the experiences of going camping or exploring when we can do it with the jeep. A couple times we planned to go wheeling but he was sick and I went without him. Those times were fun but sucked because he couldn't go. The best camping/wheeling trip I've ever had is when I took him camping along the Rubicon Trail two summers ago, just me and him. He even had his arm in a cast at the time! We caught the most beautiful Rainbow Trout too!

I'm sure your son will remember this day for a long time! And thats whats important I think - building a better relationship between father and son.
