Exo cage build thread... .with pics! (Updated 12/17/09)
Got rid of the Nates4x4 front bumper. Looks like I will have a much better approach angle now. Also moved the winch back about 3", and up close to 7".

Bumper finished.....Working on the rest of the front clip....

Started on the roof bars

Added B-pillars and some gussets, but we are waiting on a delivery of more tubing so it is on hold til tomorrow probably.

My buddy Heath is doing all the fab work, and I am helping as much as I possibly can. My welding/cutting skills are good, but I don't have a bender (and if I did I doubt I could come close to his skills). I will post up pics as we make more progress.

very impressive man, keep it coming.

Thanks man, I am thinking about painting "Hammered finish silver" once it is completely finished. Will also redo my sliders and rear bumper in the same color.

The welding is the easy part.... I can weld, but I'd give just about anything to be able to bend tube like Heath.

Seriously guys, thanks for all the responses. I am pretty happy with how it is turning out so far, can't wait to test it out! HAHA

lathan888 12-11-2009 04:16 PM

is there enough room in case you ever need to replace the windshield?

X2elite 12-11-2009 04:36 PM

Yeah we purposely left enough room.... There will actually be some bracing running from the top bar to the cowl when we are done but it will be bolt in for that reason.

PDBreske 12-11-2009 05:22 PM

That looks great! Can't wait to see it done.

RussoGuitar 12-11-2009 10:49 PM

what size tube is that? 1.75 or 2?

The time now is 09:08 PM.
