I wouldn't do an exo-cage, I think they look like crap.

I'm planning a cage inside and cutting holes in the floor to weld it into the unibody rails. I'm also plating the entire unibody rails.

Exo is fine if you're mostly interested in body protection. As far as impact/rollover, it's not as good in my opinion as an internal cage because it's tough to triangulate an exo properly.

www.c-rok.com has a good kit. They're seriously butt ugly though and they hang up on stuff.

After doing alot of research I decided on an internal cage due to its increased protection. Exo's tend to snag on things and arent as safe.

How's this, do an internal cage AND an exo cage and then weld little 6" pieces of tube from one to the other through the body. Body protection and human body protection, the best of both worlds and only with the cost of 2 roll cages and a million pounds of metal!.

if you upgrade your account to a Supporting Member, you can use the search fuction, and this topic has been discussed quite a bit in the past. Or just the google search thing that's been referenced before. Might be something about it in the stickies or something.

As far as exo vs internal, it's really a matter of personal preference. Doing both is overkill and adds a ton of unnecessary weight. Both have their pros and cons. Exo's are inherently weaker due to being bigger not being able to have any type of internal triangulation, but they do much better at protecting the body from damage. How much of a real-world issue this is is heavily debated. Greg Gavel of C-ROK did a hard endo in a hot tub in moab a couple of years ago and his exo held up quite well. They can also potentially get caught on stuff (though I've yet to actually hear this complaint from someone with an exo). Internals generally intrude into the passenger cabin reducing cargo and people room and can restrict usability of things like the glove box, reclining the seats, etc. as well as interfere with removing trim panels to do other work. Internal cages can protect the passengers more (assuming they don't knock their noggins on it), but the body will still get trashed in a roll or flop.
