EVIC display

I recently purchased a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Limited 4x4. After I've locked the car, if I touch the door handles or lift door handles to check if locked, the EVIC display lights up with the MPH/RPM and message saying to Press Brank and press start button. The key fob/remote keyless entry is not nearby to activate. This happens for days, then just disappears and then reappears. Is anyone else experiencing this and I would not think this is normal for a stranger to lift my door handle at any time and the EVIC display to light up. Thoughts? Thanks
