engine wire harness question

picked up this harness to swap in a stroker 4.6 in my 83 Cherokee but trying to find out what year this is from. This pic is the alternator wiring I think.

But the alternator that came with all this wiring does not look like it will connect to this wiring.

if any one has a pic of how I connect this to the alternator that would be great

There are at least 3 types of alternators for XJ Cherokee. This pic shows the 1991-1999 type that fits the wire harness you have.

thanks CJ-7Tim, do we know of any type of up-grade for this alt? Right now I just need to get one but if I can get a higher output one now, I would rather do that.

thanks again.

ZJs used a bigger alternator, there are 136amp and 150 amp versions. Needs a little bit of modifications to the alternator bracket on the XJ but wiring is plug & play. Search for a write-up, there are at least a couple of them on the XJ section..
