Engine fan turning on when XJ is off

I just bought a 2000 Cherokee Classic a couple weeks ago (my first Jeep!) and I've noticed that the fan is always turning on for ~45 second bursts for about 10 minutes after I shut the engine off (I haven't timed it exactly).

Is this common?

It's keeping perfect temperature according to the gauge, but since this is Vegas I want to make sure there isn't a problem that will show up once it gets to the high 110s.

Thanks.

This just popped up in the suggested posts underneath (I didn't see it in my search; sorry, I'm new). I'll give it a try unless anyone has any other suggestions.
