Emergancy Light's Acutator Broken, How to fix?

My plastic push button on the steering column has been broken for a while. I have a pen shoved down the hole in the steering column shroud for right now. What all is involved to replace this switch?

Can I pull a "new" plastic piece from from the junk yard or do I need to replace more of a complete Turn signal assembly that has the whole switch as a part of it?

Any help or info would be appreciated. Thanks!

You would be best off with a whole assembly. I'm pretty sure that you can't just get the button piece. The J/Y have lots of them and I've seen them on ebay for cheap. You have to pull the steering wheel and the airbag clock spring assy plus all of the trim around the steering column.

really? most turn signal assemblies on other vehicles don't require the removal of the steering wheel... looking on rock auto the turn signal lever has the emergency in it also..

The e-flasher switch is part of the turn signal assembly. Remove the plastic trim, remove a few Torx screws, wire connectors, and the assembly pulls out.

Looking at Rock Auto there are 4-5 different manufactures... is there a preferred choice of one over the other? I do have tilt w/ variable wipers, so that narrows it down a little.
