Electrical Ground Help

Year: 2002
Make: Jeep Grande Cherokee
For about a month I've experienced what I believe to be an electrical problem resulting from a ground somewhere. When I go to turn the key (at times) I get nothing (Nothing meaning nothing; no fuel pump hum no gauges etc... At other times it starts up...no fluctuation during wet conditions. When driving (at times) I will get a warning sound (similar to low gas warning) and a few idiot lamps (ABS, brake, and seat belt) come on and the battery gauge fluctuates along with all gauges...none of this results in a code being thrown. The battery is relatively new and the alternator and starter are firmly attached. I have checked the ground on the engine block for corrosion.....what next?

Does anyone have any thoughts????

What year is your Jeep ? XJ Cherokee, or a WJ Grand Cherokee ?

Specifically what idiot light comes on, the Check Gauges ?

Describe "nothing", what do you do, what does the Jeep do, what do you hear and see when this "nothing" thing is happening ? Does the fuel pump hum for a few seconds when you turn the key ?

From your limited description of the problem, you should have the battery and alternator tested. Make sure all the wire connections to the battery, alternator, and starter are clean and firmly attached.

for starters you're in the wrong section... but to help you anyways....check your battery terminals. mine was messed up and did similar to what you said (without the idiot lights and beeping since that was way too technologically advanced back in 1990 haha).
