DRL module 1995 Cherokee Sport

My high-beams will not turn off even when jeep is turned off. I have been reading that it could be the daytime running lights module. Does anyone have a picture of it or know where abouts it is located/what it looks like?

The lights will stay on a little bit if you turn them off after you turn the car off. Turn the ignition on, (no need to start it) turn the lights on and then off, and then turn the car off. See if they've gone off.

My goal is to have 20 lights around my XJ.

95 to my knowledge didnt have a running light module, it had an automatic light module to keep the lights on for about 2min after you turn the jeep off.

Like Matt said, try turning the key on and back off and see if they dont go out.

Found it after some trial and error. Its located beside the washer fluid reservoir attached to the side of engine compartment on passenger side. Small stand alone rectangular black box with one plug into it. Pulled it out and bingo, no more DRL's. Just have to remember to turn headlights on in day. Regular headlights seem to work although I dont think brights will.

High beam headlights won't shut off.

I had the same issue this evening with my Canadian XJ. I pulled the DRL module plug and they shut off. The headlights now work when I turn them on and off. I lost the high beam indicator light in the dash cluster when I did this although the high and low beams work. The fog lights now work on high beam and low beam. I do like that part. Thanks for the info!

DRL issue here as well.

I have a 1999 Cherokee sport. I've replaced the headlight switch 5 times and still have this problem. When I pull the plunger switch all the way, the head lights come on. But the marker lights do not. If I push the plunger switch in a bit and find the "G" spot, I can get both to work at the same time. So I see there is a doorman part for a DRL but I can't seem to find my module. I hear its under the seat, behind the cigarette lighter, in the engine compartment, next to the parking brake, and the list goes on and on. I've spent a year researching this and still can't figure it out. I'm an electrician and I've even read the schematic which doesn't show a DRL... but they sell one for my models year, ect...! Anyone have some info that may shed some light into what the hell is going on with this rig? FYI one dealer says it's my interior control module, another said it's my light sensor on the dash. Can't seem to find an interior control module unless he meant the airbag module. And I don't see a bubble light sensor either. Would love to be able to drive my rig at night on the street again. Thanks guys.
