Engine sometimes will not crank I have a nns to put on Friday but now i'm not sure. I leave to go to work starts fine. Get to work (10 mi trip). Park shut it off and try to start back...nothing. Come out to go honme and it starts just fine. Get home and shut it off and it will start right back up. Ive replaced the starter relay Does anyone have any insight on this? It could not be a starter issue could it? Acts like its nss but you can come out after it fails to start later and its good to go

Next time it won't crank, wiggle the shifter around or put it in neutral and see if it cranks. If it does it is probably the NSS. It could also be the brushes in the starter wore out, I had a chevy truck that done that, it would crank sometimes and sometime nothing, ended up being the starter.

Fails to start in that it cranks and cranks and cranks but never fires up? More than likely the Cam Postion Sensor in the distributer. Next time it does it, pop the hood and disconnect the sensor (plug on the dist) then reconnect it. Try again and if it starts it's the sensor.

If it doesn't crank at all, try the shifter in nuetral and rock the shifter back and forth some before trying to start it.

It could be the ignition switch going out also. I had that problem before, sometimes it would start right up, then later nothing.

Problem solved. After putting on a ign switch it still done it so I got my nss switch put on today and that was it. No I havent been to callentee B.A.ls1 whats it like?
