Cutting off the rear of an XJ

Anyone have a good write up or thread for how to cut off the back of the cherokee?

I wanna make the back into a mini bed using a manche tailgate and then welding roof and body supports.

and also can I get some pictures of peoples already done?

You should try to integrate the manche lights and such into the rear also. It might be a stretch, but it could look sweet. Also did your username used to be BMWalive?

Looks good man! Did a good job. mine was just a trail piece so i cut the back off and didnt replace it with anything, then flipped it the next day...that was a bad idea lol. But that looks good!

here's one that is for sale near me. They want WAYYY too much for it but it looks cool. There is someone that posted that they cut the rear off theirs and added the commache bed to it. I think that would be the best idea for practicality. A reg cherokee cut up just doesn't have much room in the rear except for a cooler.

Anyone tried to leave it as a soft top in the back? I am planning to cut my ZJ in the spring and doing an internal cage and then use a wrangler soft top, when I want a top on. Not worried about theft, normally have half doors on so its open to the taking.
A guy in St louis has a great looking red one.

"When in doubt, floor it out!!!"
