Custom tube doors

I just finished an update for my website about my tube doors. Here's a few pics. More pics and the full write-up can be seen here: Eric's Cage Build

Material is 1.5" x .120 HREW.

I used Bestop latches for TJs.

Very impressive, my friend. I really like the flow of them. Wanna make some for a 2-door?

Yeah it was black or tan and I was torn between the two. I can always repaint them black if I want but so far I am happy with the tan.

Yes. Read the other threads on going doorless - its a simple thing, you just unplug the connectors.

To me the tan looks great, but I suspect black would look good on there as well. It is amazing the transformation that jeep has went through over the years. Good job.

what bender and welder do you use? Im thinking of putting off some mods to save up for a welder and tube bender.

Welder is a Lincoln Electric SP-135 Plus and I do most of my welding with .035 flux core.

For bending I have a JD2, Model 3 I believe.

You do pretty amazing welds with flux core I've never liked using flux core, my welds look like crap if I use it

Great looking doors, how much do they weigh? IMO saving weight as much as reasonably possible is a good thing, XJ "power doors" are suprisingly heavy. That's agood way to shed off some of that weight.

Axle upgrades and 37s next winter? Those 35s look a little small
