keep the ravine wheels! don't conform to soft 8's! if you want the black wheel look, paint them. that's what im about to do. im gonna do like a graphite color.

Nice XJ and love the 44's.

Noticed the Puch in one of the pics.

Are you into moped as well?

If so are you on the "MA"?

Lol, i thought someone would notice that.

Im building it for my little brother, 70cc airsal kit, 19.5 phbg carb, tecno boss pipe, etc, btw its a 78 puch sport mk11.

Yea ive asked a couple questions on it, but i dont post much, pretty helpful forum.

Remember, fat chicks are like mopeds, fun to ride, until your friends find out.

I love them too, but this jeep is going to see more and more intense wheeling, and i hate to **** these up.

Also waggy 44s have 6 on 5.5 lug pattern, the ravines are 5 on 4.5.

I plan on buying a DD cherokee, so ill keep the ravines for it if i dont get any offers/intrest.

ah man. that's true I didn't think about the difference in bolt pattern. but good call on keeping them for the other. they're great looking wheels on Cherokees.

Painted the rear dif with rustoleum brush on satin black, i love this stuff!

Bolted the rear in, i still need to put my brake lines on it.

I got the pinion angle near perfect

I also got the front 44 coil buckets tacked on

Still waiting on DOM from ballistic fab, i regret not getting it locally.

You could get CJ wagon wheels too. I like those better than the soft 8's. You could also get the American Racing Baja's

apart from the rims, how did you remove the grime from the axles to prep them for paint?

I used simple green concentrate, i sprayed it all over the axle, and i let it sit, then i used a pressure washer to take all the crap off, it works very well.

Cleaned both frame rails, first i did it with a twisted wire wheel, then a flap wheel:

Got the drivers side mount welded up:

And passenger:

Boy, did those cleaning those frame rails suck!

I also picked up some u joint u bolts for the rear, and a 760x joint for the wagoneer, i need to get one more joint still. I plan on running full circle clips.

My bad for not coming by, was doing a big paver job today and came home and passed out... I'm sure you know that feeling well by now lol! Did you go to the old guy on 46? I'll check my toolbox and see if I still have the plastic bags for the snap ring size as I found a few conflicting sizes in write ups I found.

Its coming along nicely sir, lets cross our fingers and hope your welder doesn't get all cranky with your unibody too!

Haha its no problem, ive done that plenty of times.

I did find him, he didnt really understand the concept of running a u bolt instead of a strap, but eventually i convinced him to give it to me anyway.

Those u joints are expensive, they were like 31 bucks each.

And yea, ive got alot of welding to do tommorow, and ill be wearing long sleeves all day, ive got a nice welder tan line hahaha

recently my welder has been welding reeaaallll nice, i even let dalessio run a couple beads, he did a pretty good job.

Got both frame stiffeners partially welded up today.

I drilled two 7/8s hole on both side of the frame where the old crossmember stud/nut used to go. That was NOT fun, i broke one of my expensive step drill bits, and a couple other drill bits. I was using my dads super heavy duty milwaukee drill, that damn thing almost broke both my wrists multiple times.

I then welded in 1/2 nuts inside the stiffener on both sides.

Getting the nuts lined up with the holes i drilled in the frame was not an easy task, but after some "convincing" i got both stiffeners lined up great.

Heres the passenger side link mount

Im going to weld the upper link mount to the inside of the frame rail for added support. I might even run a gusset that goes from the rear of the link mount to the inside of the frame rail for even more support.

Ill get better/more pics of everything after its all burned in tommorow.
