Coolant in Vacuum Reservoir

I have a 1989 Cherokee we are working on and just pulled off the bumper vacuum reservoir to fix a few things and noticed the vacuum reservoir had liquid in it???????????

We drained about 1-1/2 cups of coolant, HOW did the coolant get in there to begin with?

Thanks

Are you positive its coolent? Was it sweet?

If it was just water it could have gotten there by condensation, or it could have rainwater leaked into it.

I have checked all the vacuum lines going to and coming from this. The only think I can figure is that the one vacuum line for the heater was not connected so there was a vacuum leak but it was about 1 or 2 inches below the coolant bottle so if that overflowed when the engine was on could the vacuum line could suck that much coolant?????
