coolant temperature sensor
I have a 94 XJ 4.0HO. There's a temperature device on the top corner of the head (close to the driver side). Is this the coolant temperature sensor or a temperature switch? I looked for the part on autozone and they both have the same appearance. And if this a sensor, is this the sensor for the temperature indicator on the dash? Mine reads 0 most of the time. I'm sure I damaged that sensor/switch when I reassembled my engine and that's also the same time the indicator stopped working.
Got my eye on you.....
The one in the head is for the gauge, the one in the thermostat housing is for the fan and computer. The one in the head should be the temp switch.
