cool simple mods
ok well, i'm a college student, so obviously i don't have a ton of money, but at the same time (as most people here i'm sure) i want to do all sorts of cool things to my Jeep, but again, the money issue limits me.
anyways, what are some cool cheap mods that you guys have done? i've done stuff like the camouflage ceiling, cheap light bar, taking out the back seats and installing a false floor (in the process of) i mean just cool things like that... thanks...

well- the only thing i've really done- aside from what's in my sig- is switched to a mobil one oil filter(m-1 301)-- it's bigger than stock...little bit longer- i got the idea from one of eric's XJ's posts-lol...
but i'm curious- what's this "false floor" all about? |

well the false floor (at least the way i'm, doing it) is since i'm taking out the back seats, i don't want to have just a big gaping hole where they used to be, so i'm building a "flase floor" out of wood to cover the hole with hinges on it so i can store goodies under it. once i get everything completed, i'll do a writeup on my webpage and post some pics of it...

I took some speaker wire and an old switch I had lying around and wired up an electric fan auxillary switch in about an hour, including time to cut a hole in my kick panel and mount the switch. I just shoved the two stripped ends of the wire into the relay socket and then jammed the relay back in over it.
![]() My red led instrument console lights didn't cost me anything ![]() Pulling out the silencer in your air box is free. A free-flowing muffler is pretty cheap, especially a glasspack. Wiring your lows and fogs to stay on with your high beams only takes a few minutes. |

I've done quite a bit of stuff to my jeep and the only things that really cost big money were the performance mods. Everything is pretty cheap. Check out my webpage for a few pics of doorless and my false floor. If you have any questions or want a picture of something just let me know.

not to hijack, but...
Interesting mods guys.
i'd love to know about the red instrument lights. I'm also curious how one man's "Silencer" is another man's "restrictor tube to lower the hp rating of the cherokee vs cj's so as not to alarm the feds over wheelbase to HP ratios that tend to tag "flip-over prone" passenger vehicles... " so which is it ?
