Closed cooling system to Open system?

i'm getting ready to replace my heater hoses, radiator hoses, thermostat, and coolant. I'm wondering however, since i'm gonna have a little extra time and money at the same time, would it be worth it to convert over to an open cooling system? i've never liked closed systems personally. anyone done this before? any write ups?

Just did this on my friends '90 laredo. Pretty straight forward. He had to use my jeep for reference a couple times, but since they are the same block, you just get a new radiator for a later year cherokee and a resevior, and all the hoses for that particular year (he got his parts for a 95) and we just rebuild it as if we were putting the parts on my open system. Nothing really special about it.
