Cleaning Engine Bay

Whats the best way to clean your engine bay i recently took my xj mudding and there is alot of mud all over the engine and engine bay and im not really sure whats the right way to clean it all.

a garden hose works great. keep the engine running and try to keep the direct stream away from the alt. and distributor. and ive found that tire wet spray works great for restoring all the black plastic parts such as the fan shroud and air filter housing.

pressure wash it,just cover up your alternator and distributer with a plastic bag and spray away. just use caution when spraying and you'll be fine
