Chevy 350 in an 89 XJ

I have a crappy little no option 1989 XJ just begging to be modified.

I have a free chevy 350, trans and transfer case from an 85 blazer.

Cost me no more than 500 buck to do it install.
(not including the required suspension lift).

Should I do it?

Anyone have pictures of a 350 crammed in the XJ engine compartment?

EDIT!
Heres a pic of the little bugger.

No pic for you, but a buddy of mine put a 350 in his Cherokee. Said he could smoke all 4 tires from a stand-still. He also said his biggest problem was getting a custom exhaust built (that and all the hoop-jumping to get the thing CA. smogged).

HELL YES you should do it!

If i did the 350 conversion it would be a trail rig anyway. So that mean no emmision and a simple exhaust (dump tubes right out of the manifolds).

I have stupid question usually reserved for newbs here but... what lift would i need for 33's?
I know the answer for ZJs, YJs, and TJs, but not for the XJ.
4 inches should do it right?

Since it is a trail rig only, 3.5 to 4" would suffice with fender trimming. If you want more flex than clearance, 4.5" would be even better.

To quickly answer you're question about the 350 swap, yes. Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes. Yes. As for fitting 33's, like Ultimate said, 3-4.5 will do with fender trimming, but if you don't want to trim much fender, go with the Rubicon Express 5.5"

i was thinking the 3.5 inch lift.

i want to do this on a budget and see how cheaply I can build this thing.

its going to be a complete beater.

If i feel like jumping it or braod siding a tree for the heck of it. i dont want to worry about the $1000 i just spent on parts.

3.5- 4 inches with a decent amount of trimming should fit 33's
