cherry bomb too loud?

my muffler fell off on the highway the other day. actually just the back plate, but now i have about a 7" exhaust opening and it gives me headaches when i drive. i'm looking to replace it on the cheap and have found the local auto stores sell oem mufflers for $40+. the autozone has a cherry bomb muffler for $22. is fitting one of those on going to make much of a difference in noise? i'm not too particular about performance at the moment, i just want the least expensive fix and was a little surprised that the performance muffler was the cheapest. all in all, is a cherry bomb going to keep vibrating the bejezus out of me as i drive?

Technically yes because it functions as a muffler. I have a friend with a Cherry Bomb installed and it's not too loud, but it'll definitely eliminate your killer vibs coming out the broken exhaust.

I bought my XJ with a Cherry bomb and no cat installed. Its obnoxious and sounds terrible IMO.

I have a shorty Cherry Bomb on mine with a cheapy resonator tip. It's louder than stock, but it doesn't vibrate anything. It sounds like an old school BMW or Audi. I rather like it. There's sure as hell a lot louder out there. In my opinion a V-8 on a single Flowmaster 40 is a LOT louder. Anything with dual exhaust is for sure louder and more obnoxious. Mine still has the catalytic converter.

Oh, hell no. It's nothing like a ricer. Quite the opposite in fact.

I love the sound of mine and I've had it for 8,000 miles now.

Sweet, this is exactly what I needed to know! I was mostly worried about in cabin vibes. It sure sounds shiatty at the moment and the throttle Response seems to be lacking as well.

I'm wondering the same thing. Are there different types of Cherry Bombs? My friend has one. Gives a nice tone, but it's not loud. Louder than stock though

Do NOT put a glasspack on the 2.5L 4 banger with no cat. Ricer sound all the way. My 84 had a glasspack on it and it lasted about 1 month before I had them install a regular muffler.

I have the CB Turbo. I like it. However, it's a bit shorter that the OEM so you need an extension. Don't forget to get clamps (one or two extras in case you overtighten).

YES Cherrybomb is a company not a product. People however seem to use cherrybomb when they mean their glasspack. I have a cherrybomb pro, which is not a glasspack. I like it, and I dont like loud.
