Cherokee issues?

Ok, So I already have the ZJ. But I'm getting tired of all the electrical issues. So I'm thinking of a Cherokee now. Anything important to look out for?

From what ive experienced with my 91 XJ they still have electrical issues, at least the Chryslers. But what kind of issues do you have?

a 94 xj has a lot less wires to go out than a 94 zj.

Get one with manual windows and locks. Keeps it simple.

Agreed, especially about the windows, doors, and seats. Yet mine has power everything and ABS so def plenty of stuff to go out.

00-01 have the bad 0331 head casting. It might crack, it might not. Mine did. IMO 99 is the best year because you get the upgraded Intake manifold without the crap 0331 cylinder head. You also still get the High Pinion Dana 30. Try to get a 96-01 Chrysler 8.25 (oval diff with a flat bottom) rear end. It is marginally better than the Dana 35.

I have 2 XJs and love them. Hope you find a good one.

Look at a lot of them. Don't fall in love with the first one you look at as there were a lot of XJs manufactured.

Believable maintenance records go a long ways in my book when buying used.

This^^

couldnt be said better.

also manual windows and locks keeps wires out of the way when doing the doorless mod, also XJ's have a good center of gravity, in my opinion better then the ZJ
