Cherokee Exterior Project

This spring I was thinking of working on the exterior of my jeep a little. Here is what I would like to do. I found a star decal on ebay which I really like.. I'm thinking about having it in black. Also I am going to need new tires so while the rims are off the jeep I'm thinking about painting the interior of the rims purple. This is what it would sorta look like.

Also I would like to get some 2 purple accent lights for the front along with new headlights (Suggestions?). I would also like to get 4 interior neons in aqua blue to put under the dash and seats.

Tell me what you think. Or give me other suggestions.

Let me be the first to say, IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING NICE TO SAY, THEN DON"T REPLY, thank you

Ok, I used to be into the street Jeepin thing, so here is my advice. Not sure about the start and purple thing, but about the lighting. I used to have 4 blue neons on the under body. It looks pretty good, but make sure you hide the lights behind the pinch seem. I hate when you see the lights, your only supposed to see the glow on the road, at least thats what I think.
Mounting on in the rear is not going to be as simple though. The gas tank and hitch on mine got in the way, but if you don't have a hitch, it should be easy.
Front, I put it right behind the air dam and one inside the grill.
If your only putting them in the front, I think you should put one in the top of the grill and one on the bottom, that should look pretty nice between some new headlights.

As for headlights. I think the optimal kit would be the Sylvania HID setup, but thats like 300 some bucks. If your williing to spend that much, its awesome. If not, then I highly suggest you go with IPF lenses and upgrade the wiring. Then some Narva bulbs to give it that high output light. DO NOT go cheap on the lenses, you WILL be sorry.

Anyway, I'm over that phase, not more neons for me

"IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING NICE TO STAY THEN DON'T REPLY".....I would like those of you who don't like it to say what you think. I like constructive critisim. However, don't be rude about it. Thank you.

The purple wasn't really my first choice. I wanted blue but they are illegal so next was purple (closest color to blue that I could get).

Thank you for the opinion and advice. I will take it into consideration. I tried to hide the side neons best that I could.

For the headlights I'm thinking of having a white glow rather than yellow. Thinking about H6054 ST Sylvania Silver Star SilverStar Bulbs.

I'm looking mostly on opinions about the star decal.

The decal does not look to bad, I went back and forth between the two pics and decided that if you are trying to go for a little bit of custom touch, go for it. As for the purple rims, I think that you are going to have to hard of a time trying to keep them clean. But if you are willing to put in the time, I guess you could always paint them black, if you didnt like the purple. When you do this stuff show some pics. Its not my thing, but I am all about making something my own, so good luck.

i think a glow of neons behind the grille would look cool. Much better then those stupid looking hood mounted lights on the sprayers for the wiper.

mount one at the top and one at the bottom so they shine onto the rad and you can see the glow, but not the lights themselves.

For the purple rims, you could probably find a good metallic purple paint, then cover it with a few coats of clear.

Is there really enough room there to hide them? What about with a 6" lift? I just picked up some LED tbes for the underbody, I'll use them when I'm wheelin at night, but I wasn't sure where to mount them since I have rock rails installed.

You can get purple LED tubes, two 48" and two 36" ones for $15 with $35 shipping on ebay. The LED ones are brighter and much more rugged than neon. I just picked some up, I'll post picks in a week or two when I get around to installing them.

I was under the impression that you were a guy when I started reading this, simply because you didnt make any indication in your name that your a girl like most ladies do. So naturally I was like WTF...but it does look nice. My fiance is really into purple so she approves.

Well, this was way back when I was small, so before rock rails and all that good stuff. I don't know how you'd go about mounting the LEDs with rock rails. Unless you either go on teh inside of the frame rail, or right up under the rails, but that'll only work depending on their design. BTW, nice rock lights

I already have purple neons on the underbody. I want neons for the interior.

I used to have the ones that flashed to the music, like the harder the bass hit the brighter they got. You can fit a 20" one on the driver side and a 15" one on the passenger side unther the dash, at least in my 90 you can. I just used velcro to mount them, they never fell off. But that was before my subs popped my back window out, now I just have a 10" sub and no neon.

I was thinking of putting them just inside the frame rail, I don't want them to get broken on the trail. But thats why I went with the LED's, I guess they are almost indestructable. But inside the frame won't allow me to use them as rock lights, and that was the whole plan.

first let me start off by saying i want my dog back i have a lab that looks just like yours. The neons look good, but im not too crazy about them being purple, but since you are a girl it would be ok. I agree that blue would look best, i know around here that cops dont care what color they are if they are on you are getting a ticket. If it were me id get the color i wanted and screw johnny law
