Cherokee Cummins 4bt swap

ok so i was researching about buying a diesel vehicle since the gas here is 1.20/liter , 5.45 $ per Imp gallon , then i came accross the cummins 4bt swap , is this possible in the cherokee , is their lots of fabrication , wiring , Fab isnt the prob , it's the wiring the prob for me ! , is their a site or a self made manual for this swap ? is the 4bt a reliable engine , any help is very appreciated

The 4BT would be a sweet swap into an XJ. I think you would need a custom oil pan to clear the front axle and a cowl induction hood for clearance.

That's it? You could cut out the parts of the hood that would intersect with it and (if you hit any of the supporting members) fabricate a nice little raised part that could double as a cooling device (or even a good place to get air for the turbo you'd be installing with your diesel engine because you're awesome like that! ).

This is something I'd love to do, but I'd end up halfway through the project before I found out the engine was actually a pumpkin. That's just my luck.
