Check Engine Light - 02 sensor voltage too high bank 1 sensor 2

I went to autozone to have my code read. the computer came back with a code reading 02 sensor voltage too high bank 1 sensor 2. First off, is that the sensor after the cat or before it. I just replaced the one before it. Second, is high voltage lean or rich, and can i have the sensor tested? The new one is 75 bucks so i don't wanna do it unless i have to. Also, could a wiring problem be the culprit?

Did you replace that sensor with a Bosch sensor. I did and had the same problem. I then bought the OEM sensor from 4wd.com for half the price and it worked/works fine.

this problem has existed before and after that sensor was replaced.

hmm, usually the Autozone sensor thingys will say wether the problem is upstream or downstream. I'd say your best bet is probably to replace the other sensor, its most likely due anyway. Also, check the fuse in the passenger kick panel. I once got the wires wet and it popped a fuse. Took me days to pinpiont the problem.

I think its the one after the cat (sensor 2), from cylinders 1-3 (bank 1).

On my OBDII scan tool I got bank 2 sensor 2, but my engine is 4.0L, SHOULD BE NO BANKS, would that be the sensor after the cat.

First, stop listening to the retards at AutoZone.

Second, you have Google, use it. Everything you need to know is at your finger tips.

Bank 1 Sensor 2 is the the sensor in the back, nearest the cat converter

Bank 1 Sensor 2

Don't listen to CJ7-Timmy. He has a CJ 7. The retards at Autozone are two steps up on him. It the one right below the collector on if get error 141, past the cat on 131.
Heres what the retards at Autozone have to say:

bank 1 sensor 2 is after the cat. think of it this way, each exhaust manifold is a bank. cherokees only have 1 manifold, so there is only bank 1. sensor 1 is before the cat, sensor 2 is after the cat. dont trust autozone guys. if you have a question, ask a mechanic.

"No banks" isn't an option. It's either one bank or two banks. And some Jeep 4.0L engines (including 2000+ XJ's) do, indeed, have two banks.

2000/2001 models have two manifolds. Two banks, four sensors.

CJ7 Timmy has owned 5 Cherokees, and his Jeep club has 9 Cherokee members, so he might know a little bit about them.

The Autozone people are tards, the diagram in the link above proves that because it is for a V-6 and of course, the Inline 6 cylinder engine has been in Jeeps since the 1960's.

Some 2000 and 2001 4.0L XJ's have the CA emissions with pre-cats and 4 sensors and some have the standard two O2 sensors and one cat converter.

If you only have two O2 sensors, your OBD-II trouble codes will read Bank 1 Sensor 1 or Bank 1 Sensor 2. Sensor 1 is nearest the engine and Sensor 2 is nearest the cat converter. The last two O2 sensors I installed in an XJ were for that exact code.
