Post the chain rattle noise

I just bought a 99 Cherokee. When I press on the gas and get around 1000 RPMs or so, I hear a strange noise. It only last as long as I remain at those RPMs. It sounds like a tick, tick, tick noise, but more like someone lightly rattling a chain. Can anybody offer me any info? Thanks.

cadilladic (spelling?) converters will rattle when the catalyst comes loose (i.e.. converter is shot)
And it's most noticeable at low rpms.. when the airflow isn't blasting it into place..
just one possibility.

still miss my '70 cj-5. :(

It could just be the naturally loud lifters in the engine sounding off . To be honest, I dont think it would be something to worry about unless your pressure goes low or you get erratic acceleration.

This may be very elementary but have you check all the fluids? Could be something that simple.
