Can't choose LEDs!
http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/commerce.cgi?product=CAR&keywords=&cart_id=2886062 .21910&next=50
Those are the bulbs I am looking at. I have seen that the tri-LEDs are pretty bright, but don't want to spend $4 per bulb T1.5-x Instrument LED bulb 1-LED Instrument Cluster and Gauge illumination bulb. #74 LED bulb installed in twist lock socket base Select LED Color $ 1.79 In red. I have a white speedometer stick thing. Will this shine red? Thanks.

i would assume so, depending how your dash is though check to make sure any parts that the lights shine through are not tinted, if it is you will get a mixed color

You can save a little by buying the #74 bulbs alone and reusing your existing twist-lock bases

Yea, that is what I planned to do. I'm going to go ahead and buy the ones I looked at. Hopefully they will be bright! Should I get about 6?

The secret to using the superbrightleds site is the MORE INFO button on the product pages. http://www.superbrightleds.com/specs/74.html has are all of the #74 bulbs they offer, their brightness, color spectrum, etc.
I bought the 74-WHP (cool white) for the switch backlights and they are kind of blueish, but it looks alright there. However it does not work for the HVAC controls which have white, red and blue text, which all gets washed into blue, and I ended up buying a natural white #74 bulb from http://www.autolumination.com/ to more closely match the gauge and cabin light color. Here's a poor pic that shows how blue they are ![]() For the indicator/warning lights I bought a bunch of the red, amber, and green bulbs as appropriate for the indicator color, and the only problem I've had with those is that some of the indicator circuits have ambient voltage that the LED displays (low washer fluid is always partially lit up, for example). The single SMD bulbs are all plenty bright. |

Ahh, those don't seem very bright. Are they brighter, just the picture makes them looks very faded (gauges)?

Let us hope they are dimmed. If so, I can buy them.

1) I already said it's a bad pic
2) The gauge bulbs are not #74, nevermind the #74 in question |

Yes, I did. They didn't work because they were too small for the twist sockets. I think you can order different sized ones though.
