can anybody tell me which trim level my cherokee is?

the guy i bought it from said it was a classic, but i doubt it, it doesn't have the badge and i just thought the classics were a little nicer. is there anywhere i can look on the jeep to find out? here is a link to the jeep before i bought it: http://cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp...3&aff=national it has the power windows and door locks, steel wheels. i think its either the se, or the sport. but it doesn't have the badges so im just not sure which it is. any input would be appreciated

yea its definately a sport.
The SE would have the abbreviated clusters, without a tach an idiot lights for all the other guages.

I've only seen those rims on an SE, so that's my guess. Weird though, i had thought SE's always had a black grill. Some SE's did have full clusters and all the power goodies though, maybe a color keyed grill too. Ask Jeep for a build sheet, that should tell you for sure.

It's most likely a SE, the SE's didn't come with door mouldings and yours doesn't look like it has any.

without even looking at it, i'll say SE.
All sports from that era were badged with the sticker and had at the minimum the 5 spoke painted steel wheels, not those kind

Installing HID's in stock housings is bad. Here is why.

Type the vin into a carfax database, without paying for the service it will at least tell you the make and modle/trim and year, engine size etc..

you can either do it at jeep.com or ask a dealer to run the vin.

I know it's not a Classic or above because those have body colored moldings and end caps. I will agree about the wheels being from an SE but don't the SE's have manual windows/locks instead of power? I'd say it's a Sport and someone just swaped the wheels for some reason.

EDIT: Now that I'm looking at it again, is there not any carpet? Looks kinda like it has a vinyl liner instead.

This is a classic. Classics have everything body color.

Then where is the Classic scrawled on the door of all of the XJ Classics from this era?

It looks like a fleet jeep.

If its SSP it should have an extend idle switch and a tranny cooler.

I was going to guess SE because it doesn't have roof racks. Did Sports/Classics come without roof racks?
