CAMshaft position sensor

On a 2000 XJ, where is the camshaft position sensor(remember, no distributor) and if it went bad would I definately get a cel? What kind of symptoms would a bad sensor cause? Sorry all the camshaft postion questions were for earlier XJ's when I searched. Even google did'nt give me anything to go on.

The camshaft position sensor is where the distributor would be if you had one.

..and if the XJ 2000-2001 engine management acts like Bosch Motronic equipped cars, a bad camshaft position sensor will make your engine unable to run (just like crankshaft position sensor does).
