c4x4 tow hooks for 96 xj
Im about to order some c4x4's for my 96 country. Ive read the install write up for 97 and up xj's, but I know some things are going to be different for my 96. Will there be any drilling involved? Will it pretty much be bolt on? I know Ill have to trim the bottom part of my front bumper so I can clear the hooks, thats no big deal. Anyone with pre 97's and c4x4 tow hooks have any advice?

The install on a '96 is 99% the exact same as on a '97+.
No, no drilling is involved.

Just installed a pair on my '95 a few weeks ago and it went as described in the write ups. No bumper trimming as you mention, just had to cut a couple of slots in the vinyl valance beneath the bumper for the hooks to stick through.
It took me a bit longer than others, but any wrenching that I do always takes longer than expected. I thought I was missing a couple of installation nuts until I got to the point that I found that a couple of the bolts go into threaded inserts. It wasn't a bad job at all, and I did it alone - even holding the front bumper up with my knee while I got the bolts started. I've even received a couple of compliments on how good they look on the XJ.
