Bye Bye Breaks!!!!

Today my mechanic was taking my Jeep for a spin after replacing the hub that he broke and when he went to brake he heard a loud "boom" sound and the pedal went to the floor. Now, there is nooooooo way im going to pay for this, but just curious did the master cylinder blow up or what do you think?

That would be my guess. If there not a steady leak of brake fluid anywhere else, it may be the master cylinder.
