Bumper Clips

I'm soon to take my front bumper off. Last time I had it off, I ended up breaking most of the clips and had to use a pair of vice grips to hold them in place while I tightened the bolts.

Does anyone know of a source to buy them? I've seen that style clip before, just not that big. I checked teamcherokee.com & Quadratec, and they don't seem to have them.

Does anyone know the specs so I can look at a specialty fastener store, or a part number so I can swing by the dealership.

They are just common automotive blind nuts.

Lowes, HD, NAPA............most auto parts and hardware store have them.

I went to SAE grade 8 nuts and bolts on my bumpers.

That came up with what I want. Now does anyone know what size bolts are OE?

Really, if you swapped to an M8x1.25 bolt I don't see why not. Even going stainless, you'd have less than $10 in hardware + the cost of the clips. Grade 8's would probably be about $5 for the bolts.

Even buying new bolts, you're probably only out like $15.

The clips are crap. throw them away and use washers and nuts that fit the bolts.
