Thanks a lot! Once we got started on that last trail, I was seriously regretting not getting sliders. It's OK though. I'm going to do a rocker replacement with 2x6 steel. I also gotta sort out some more damn electrical issues.

Cheers to you for not holding back driving your XJ to the limit. I wish I had the balls to do that without skids/armor!

Cool thread! Hey check out JCR Offroad for some rock sliders. All their stuff is on sale right now. I just ordered full armor all around. Can't wait!

Your rig is too clean not to do something better with the rear bumper and the old end cap mounting hardware. Or did I miss that sentence?

Haha I can't disagree with any of that. Thanks dude! Tahoe is awesome.

I can't decide what to do about sliders since the pinch seam is wasted. I want to weld in some 2x4 tubing to replace the rockers and tie it in where necessary, that way I don't lose clearance. Never have the time and metal is expensive though.

Hey thanks for the heads up! I just got my tax return and now I'm on their site shopping!

I'm really kind of mad that I let my ride get so much body damage, but I've had a great time with it, and now it's time I treat it with a little more respect. Thanks for all the comments guys. Bumpers and armor are at the top of my list.

Yeah, I see so many people go rock crawling after installing lockers and such other upgrades only to smash up their rigs. That's why I went with armor before touching my axles. For sliders, I got their Stage 3 Sliders. I think if you went with something like that and then put some bedliner coating over the lower section of your doors and rockers, then that damage would hardly even show up anymore behind the sliders. Plus you hardly messed up the actual door at all.

Your Jeep still looks super sharp though regardless. Check out my build- link in sig. I've got tons of stuff in the mail right now. After going through your thread and seeing your XJ in action, it makes it really hard to wait for it all to get here.

Buildup looks good so far. Sorry to say you really screwed up with the rocker damage. Reading on here helped me realize how important rock rails and other armor are. Check out my sig for all the armor I have, and I would have been stuck many times without it.
