from what I hear you may want to rethink the Rusty's Tie Rod and Track bar

Save your money on the Teraflex D44 disc brake conversion and use the backing plates from a Ford Explorer and ZJ rorotrs: http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=967146

I've got the V8 ZJ tie rod swap in mine, it is definatly beefier, don't have to worry about bending that piece of solid rod.

Oh so on the trac-bar I've been looking at the RE Adj trac bar w/ mount and brace but it says that its for 4"+ lift. I know a lot of people talk about getting it with lifts like the one I'm getting but I just wanted to make sure that its the write one and if its a really good/strong one? I was hoping that RE1660 extreme duty trac bar (which is the one that they say is for over 4"), the mount RE1665 and the brace RE1670 would all work, does anyone know if this will work on the RE 3.5" SF?

Alright so the parts are starting to get ordered and I guess they have been arriving at the house, keeping my wife busy putting all the parts in the back of the XJ.
I have a buddy that has some "hook-ups" and is going to try to get me a free pair of 33x12.50 TSL SX's so that pretty cool, I should figure out in a couple weeks about that. Well here's a list of the ordered parts so far: JKS Bar Pin Eliminators Front and Rear Leigh Performance 60mm Throttle Body (www.strokedjeep.com) Poison Spyder Customs HD Steering kit, just had to b/c its so darn beefy ![]() TJ Flares with smoked lenses TnT Unibody Stiffeners C4x4 Tow Hook kit C-Rok Steering Brace Kit Pretty excited about it all, just need to get home after all this and install for a couple weeks lol I'm guessing about another 6 months till I get home but it'll be nice having everything there just waiting. So the "going to buy list" is getting a little bigger as well, needs to stop something though. - RE 6030 lift w/ monotubes - Ballistic Fab D44 Diff Cover - Ruff Stuff D30 Cover - RE track bar and brace - FiveOMotorsports mustang injectors, yellow tops - new exhaust manifold - rocker replacements - aussie locker, possibly - thinking about the TnT long arm kit just because i would love to get it all now while i have the money and the added protection and strength is what i'm looking for in this build Last edited by nrpalmer32; 12-02-2008 at 01:12 AM.. |

Your Waggy is nice. I miss mine and it's good to see you're building one. You'll love the TnT long arm if you decide to put 'em in.
And why don't you skip the tow hook kit and go with front and rear bumpers. Maybe a winch? Adds a bunch to the cost, but gives you some protection and use. |

Youre building an XJ in Iraq?
I didnt see up-armor, bulletproof glass, blue-force tracker or roof-mounted .50 cal on your list. Here's a few links to catalogs that can help you with those items. You wont find these items in J.O., Quadratech, or anywhere else but here. www.defenselink.mil www.drms.dla.mil May want to consider these tires above anything else offered as well: (Sorry, dont come in the standard Jeep forum, college issue 15x8 black cragar rim configuration, but these are much safer for the type of wheeling you will encounter) http://www.gadgetvenue.com/airless-humvee-tires-11182324/ I hear wheeling over there really rocks along the banks of the Euphrates, and the Salbka powder/sand mix is better than sand dunes in AZ/CA. Good luck, and happy wheeling! |

wagoneer
wagoneer is a good build, however I'm not sure that you will be happy with a 3.5in lift especially in the rear, as with all Xj's the sag in the rear will dissapoint you I suggest a 5.5HD, the brand doesn't neccesarily (spelled wrong) make a difference but the height, abilities and options will definitely on a full size.
